Anne McSweeney
Clinical Optometrist
Anne has a degree in optometry (BSc hons) from Dublin Institute of Technology from 2005. After 2 years working in Ireland in community optometry, she moved to Australia where she worked for the next 7 years.
In Perth, Australia, Anne worked in the Lions Eye Institute, which is a large private eye clinic. She worked as an ophthalmic assistant, a clinical optometrist and as the manager of the Allied Ophthalmic Services. At the Lions Eye Institute, Anne received most of her clinical optometry training in addition to performing BCVA’s for various clinical drug trials.
In 2011 Anne successfully passed the OCANZ exams which allowed her to register as an Optometrist in Australia and New Zealand.
Since her return to Ireland in April 2016, Anne has worked as a clinical optometrist at the Institute of Eye Surgery. Her duties include; VA, IOP, visual fields, refracting, contact lens trials, slit lamp examination, taking various scans (Pentacam, OCT, FFA, Fundus photography, endothelial microscopy), biometry measurements and IOL selection.
