Kevin’s primary degree is in Biochemistry (BSc Hons) from UCD. He subsequently qualified as an Optometrist FAOI in 2004 in DIT Kevin Street.
From 2007 to 2018, Kevin worked as a refractive optometrist, with a role in the management of optometrists and clinics in Ireland. In this role as Optometry Development Manager, he trained new optometrists and worked in both the commercial end and clinical end of the business.
In 2018, Kevin left this position to pursue a more clinical role with the Institute of Eye Surgery team in Waterford. At IoES he is working with a number of leading ophthalmic surgeons and is helping to develop new procedures and protocols to enable the highest possible patient outcomes be achieved.
Kevin finished the first module in IP training through Glasgow Caledonian University and is in the process of completing this UK/GOC qualification. He also successfully undertook extra GOC training in Northern Ireland with the University of Ulster in the management of Minor Eye conditions 2018.
